WHERE ARE YOU?

The intention of this small book is to present you with some

ideas, and give you the opportunity to choose them. and to use them to

improve the quality of your life.

It's not about telling you how you should run your life, nor how to

sort our your "problems".

It is about something within you - about contacting something

within you that you may not have recognised. The intention is to give

you a nudge, a reminder about your own truth, and some simple ways

in which you can make that contact.

It is about opening up your life. making a move from the kind of

life where, although you feel you are doing the best you can in the

circumstances, it still seems like you have no control over what

happens to you. It is about making a move from the place where

"things" happen to you. other people influence and mould your life.

and nothing you do seems to make any difference in the quality of

your life.

It is also about not taking yourself too seriously!

"Life is like stepping onto a boat which is about to sail out to sea

and sink." - SUZUKI ROSHI

To make your life work you really do need to have a basic

understanding of where you are starting from.

What usually happens when you think about any improvements

in the quality of your life, is that you see yourself starting from the

beginning, seeing yourself as a clean slate and writing your life as you

wish you were.

Unfortunately this is not possible.

You start from here. looking at the facts of your life as they are

now. You are not a clean slate, you are well written upon. Your beliefs,

patterns or behaviour, thoughts and established emotional responses

make up you. as you are. And this is where you start - not at the begin-

ning, because that has already happened, but here in the middle

where you are.

"I yam what I yam." POPEYE

It is important that you begin to see yourself as you are, because

that is the way you are. No amount of wishing you were different

hating yourself for being that way, wanting to change or simply

moving around the material circumstances of your life will make any

difference to your being that way. To accept yourself as you are is like

accepting that a brick is a brick. Whether you like it or not it is

still a bnck.

So. how did you get to be the way you are?
